Into each life a little rain must fall

The basic message in this short video is STOP CATASTROPHISING! We all have bad days but it does nobody any good to imagine that their problems are worse than they actually are.

Most of the problems we face won’t matter as far into the future as next week, let alone next month or next year.

Into each life a little rain must fall but as the saying goes, in most cases… “This, too will pass.”

When we catastrophise we set up a self-fulfilling prophecy that actually prevents us from overcoming problems as quickly as we should. We’re so busy manifesting problems for ourselves, we don’t see the solutions. Sometimes the best thing to do is to stop, take stock and get things into perspective. Human beings are enormously resilient and remarkably good at adapting to changing circumstances if they’ll only allow themselves the emotional freedom to do so.

Stop catastrophising – it’s making things a whole lot worse than they need to be.

Stoic rules for mental health

Stoicism is brilliant!

We like to think we’re all ‘ever so advanced’ in the 21st century but the ancients weren’t exactly stupid either. Well over 2,000 years ago Stoic philosophers began laying the foundations for good mental health and the principles they established are still in use today.

This stuff won’t cure serious mental illness but as a strategy for mental health promotion it’s a damn good starting place!
