The Convention 11: Just a quote

I came across this quote today & thought it would be an excellent prelude to the forthcoming post on religious freedom and freedom of conscience. That post will follow soon but until then ….

“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality”

(Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nobel peace prize holder).

Wise words whether you agree with his larger vocation or not.

About ‘The Convention’

This series of posts first appeared on Stuart’s blog in June 2011. It is not intended to be a comprehensive or even particularly authoritative reference guide to the ECHR. Rather it is a brief introduction to a much larger and infinitely more fascinating subject.
